Well there you have it. A-ko's name is...Aiko. Not very creative but it was the name I had for her when I started thinking up this comic. So for everyone who guessed at least something close to that, good job.
Now some of you are probably wondering why Fuko called Aiko, love child. Well its pretty simple. Aiko is made up of the Japanese characters 愛 (ai) for love or affection and 子 (ko) for child. That is if the site behind the name is telling the truth.
In other news I am thinking of posting a bunch of pages on Monday. I really want to get this chapter finished and start the next one. I have so much I want to do with this comic, but I have to wait. >.<
I knew it was Aiko! xD still not sure what B-ko could be <.< i'm betting her's is a biiiiit longer, and "B-Ko" was more or less inspired by "A-Ko". xD
also....Quick! Yumi! Glomp her for having an adorable name! <3
Also, technically Aiko is both a slang term for child born out of wedlock(Love Child) as that is the literal translation. But the actual meaning of the name is "Beloved Child" or "Loved Child" also "Little Loved One" basically stuff along those lines. (I only know this because I have an OC named Aiko xD) I found a few different meaning for it, but they were basically just different wordings of the same thing. o,,o
Literal translations, even characters don't always have the EXACT meanings behind names. Sometimes it might use a word, but mean something else xD Similar to what every country does with their names =P
Example my name is Karin, in Japan it can mean Summer Forest or Summer Bell, but also means Pure. <- these are so unfitting it's not even funny => as I hate summer, don't like forests or bells. and i am far from pure o,,o; (Unless pure Yuri counts, then that totally fits. =D )
Child of Love
It's not like I didn't know what "Aiko" meant, but Fuko actually saying "love child" got me for some reason lolol.
@Mystearen - Well, if you don't like summer-bell or summer-forest, there's also scent-phosphorous or flower-pear haha. Find characters that can be read in a way you want. The characters for summer, scent, and flower can all be read as "ka." Same with "rin" and its translations. Though, you gotta exercise SOME discretion with the characters you choose. Like, I discovered I could write my name as "naked juice", but when I showed my friend, she got upset and personally picked different set for me lmao.
@Mystearen: Well thank you for such a well written comment. I kinda figure that the name could be taken more then on way, I just thought Love child had more impact.
Also I like that your name is Karin.
